    Users will experience better throughput performance when using IE or Safari.

    Note: Chrome is not supported.

  4. The SSLVPN Client is working sporadically on a Mac. How can I fix it?

  5. Disable the Mac feature "Back to my Mac". This feature causes conflicts with the Junos Pulse client's operating port. After disabling “Back to my Mac” restart the client.

  6. Why is my connection speed very slow while using the Junos Pulse client?

  7. Verify your speed (with and without Junos Pulse) using the following steps:

    • Step 1. Reboot your computer.
    • Step 2. After rebooting do not start the Junos Pulse Client.
    • Step 3. Run the speedtest by going to speedtesting site of your choice such as http://www.speedtest.net/ . Make note of your speed results.
    • Step 4. Start the Junos Pulse Client
    • Step 5. Run the speedtest as in Step 3.
    • Compare the two speed test results.

  8. Where can I find Junos Pulse Knowledge Base for Blackberry?

  9. The version of the Pulse client which is presently available for Blackberry (version 4.1.0.30071) does not support BB OS 10. Check out the Junos Pulse Knowledge Base for Blackberry.

  12. How can I disable Junos Pulse autostart in Windows?

  13. Please follow the instructions below:

    1. Go to Start > type “msconfig” in the search field and hit Enter.

    2. Click on the Startup tab > deselect Junos Pulse > click Apply and OK

  14. How does the SSLVPN device identify my system as a Linux System?

  15. Linux systems are identified by a check of the User Agent string. The User Agent String must contain the text "Linux". Linux OS SSLVPN sessions are assigned roles with no Junos Pulse configured. Junos Pulse does not support Linux. Linux users must continue to use Network Connect via a supported Browser.

    Sample User Agent string:
    "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0"

  16. Why does my SSLVPN session end after several hours?

  17. SSLVPN sessions end when the session clock runs out. Below are the Timeouts for the various SSLVPN profiles.

    Idle time i.e. Maximum time that the SSLVPN session may be idle (no traffic):

      10-30 minutes (Varies by SSLVPN profile)

    Session time i.e. Maximum duration of the Session:

      480-600 minutes (8-10 hours)

    Reminder time i.e. Warning issued x minutes before the session is closed:

      5-10 minutes

  18. What does Client Services require from clients reporting an SSLVPN problem?

  19. When reporting a problem to Client Services please provide the following:

    • Detailed problem description.
    • Date/Time of problem or event
    • SSLVPN Profile name (For example: vpnyork or vpnfw1, etc.)

  20. I am already logged in to Junos Pulse. Why do I get a second login message?

  21. Users may see a second login message the first time they login to Junos Pulse. This is a bug with the latest version of Junos Pulse 5.03. To get around this hit Cancel on the login message

  22. I see a pop-up message saying that host checker has failed and I need a current Anti Virus software. What should I do?

  23. While you can skip the message and continue on to connecting with VPN, we recommend that you download the latest version of Anti Virus and run a system scan before continuing to connect to VPN.
